Established in 2009 in Kuwait, Rajasthan Darpan Association (RDA) is a registered, non-governmental, and non-profit organization devoted to community welfare, social upliftment, and humanitarian services across Kuwait and India, with a special focus on the state of Rajasthan. RDA is proudly registered with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and works to bridge the gap between the Indian expatriate community and vulnerable populations in India through a range of impactful, on-the-ground initiatives.
RDA was founded by Mr. Dhanpal Panchal, a Kuwait-based professional who has been residing in the country since 2002. He began his career at Al Askafi General Trading & Contracting Co. W.L.L., where he served as a Sales and Marketing Manager, specializing in services for the oil and gas sector in Kuwait.
In 2009, Mr. Panchal was deeply moved by a powerful scene in Aamir Khan’s film Taare Zameen Par. In the scene, a young child working as a restaurant helper is shown offering tea to the protagonist, Ram Shankar(Amir Khan), who kindly shares a tea and biscuit with the boy and invites him to sit beside him. This brief moment stirred Mr. Panchal emotionally, compelling him to reflect on the hardships faced by child laborers and orphaned children in India.
Inspired by that one minute of human compassion on screen, Mr. Panchal was driven to take real-life action—thus laying the foundation of Rajasthan Darpan Association, with the mission to serve underprivileged children and rural communities in Rajasthan through consistent philanthropy and care.
